Frequently asked questions
Common questions about startup stack costs, sharing your stack, and comparing tools.
What is stackco.st? What does it do?
stackco.st is a transparency platform for founders. People share their actual SaaS stacks and monthly costs so you can see what running a startup really costs, compare tools, and discover cheaper alternatives. Everything is open—you can browse stacks and tools for free.
How can I see what it costs to run a startup?
Browse the stacks page to see stacks shared by founders. Each stack shows the tools they use and their total monthly cost. You can filter and compare to understand what others actually pay and how lean or full their setup is.
How do I share my stack? Who can share?
Founders and teams can share their stack by signing up and adding their tools and monthly costs in the dashboard. You choose which tools to include and what you pay (e.g. per seat or total). Your stack gets a public page so others can see your setup and total cost. It helps the community and gives you a clear view of your own spend.
How do I compare tools and pricing?
Use the tools page to see which tools are used across stacks and how they’re priced. You can see how many stacks use a tool and typical pricing, so you can compare alternatives and spot overkill or cheaper options for your stack.
Where does the pricing data come from?
Pricing is submitted by founders when they add tools to their stack. It reflects what they actually pay (e.g. plan, seats, add-ons), not list prices. So you see real-world costs, not just marketing pages.
Is it free?
Browsing stacks and tools on stackco.st is free. Sharing your stack and using the dashboard are free. If we add paid features later, they will be clearly indicated on the platform.
